Application Criteria

The one year DreamMaker Program targets young motivated and talented individuals across social divides who want to learn hands-on about a certain topic and make a difference by following their dreams. Applicants should have an idea for a DreamPlan, a project idea they would like to implement in their home community with the support of the D&F Academy DreamMaker Program. The Implementation Phase requires at least part-time commitment to the DreamPlan. Fellows can choose to either fully concentrate on their DreamPlan or continue their studies or regular jobs and implement their DreamPlans, part-time. The minimum work time on the DreamPlan implementation and participation in the online learning component is 12 hours per week.

Age
Our projects are open to young people between 18 (21 for projects in the US) and 28. This means that on the first day of the project a Fellow must be at least 18 (21) years old and no older than 28. In case she or he is not legally of age in their home country at the time they apply, she or he will have to supply a permission signed by the parents or legal guardians for the application to be valid.

Qualifications
It is central to our mission that we offer inclusive educational opportunities to talented young adults with highly diverse previous experiences and define a new idea of meritocracy in todays globalized world. We encourage applications from university students or graduates as well as individuals without higher education alike. What counts for us is that applicants demonstrate a unique motivation to participate in the selected project and show the potential to use the experience for their own future venture and dreams. We do expect our Fellows to have a good working knowledge of English, as our projects take place in an international group and are conducted in English.

Motivation
D&F Academy projects are aimed at individuals who are eager to engage with other young people from different cultures and to learn hands-on and to work together with experienced experts from the respective project field. Our projects are for people with dreams, ideas and hopes and the motivation to make a change. A D&F Fellow must share a passion for the topics involved in the project she or he is applying to. Ideally the Fellow already has some knowledge and interest in this particular field and is interested in sharing her/his knowledge with other Fellows from around the world!
